Moving tab bar to top

This is a great plugin but I can't seem to get it laid out the way I'd expect -- with the tabs displayed across the top of the screen above the notes. What I have now is a new vertical column alongside my notes. I've tried View -> Change Applicaiton Layout, but the up/down arrows are dimmed so I can only move the column side-to-side. And changing Preferences -> Note tabs -> Force tabs layout to "Horizontal" doesn't seem to work either. Is there a way for the plugin panel to be placed above the note title, rather than occupying part of the screen that would be used for the note body?

Using Joplin 2.3.5 on Mac/Catalina.

Have you seen the screencast in the README? It shows how it should work. If the up/down never get accessible in your environment, then it would be a bug of the app itself. Normally it works as you expect it.

I have the same issue/request, would it be possible to have the tabs displayed either at the top ? image

The reason being that I already have 5 panels/columns so I think it makes much more sense to have note tabs at the top, like in all the other tools, E.G: image

Is this a limitation of Joplin? that you can only change the "columns" , but not the rows :(

LATER EDIT: please see here the solution: https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/plugin-note-tabs/12752/254
