Can't minimize a window of an elevated process that belongs to different user

Open GCRaistlin opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I work under limited account. To perform tasks that require elevated rights I always have Far Manager running elevated under different account. Now RBTray can't handle its window (though it can handle a window of a non-elevated process running under different account).

Same here, it doesn't work even e.g. for command line ran as administrator.

Hi @GCRaistlin and @Iwitrag,

Thanks for the report. This sounds very similar to issue #29. Do you mind taking a look at that and letting me know if you think it's different?

Thanks, Benbuck

I don't have Win10 so I can't say.

I noticed this today.. I opened up a CMD 'as administrator' ran a long running command and tried to minimize to tray.. Nothing. I thought the whole or RBTray had stopped working, but no, it worked perfectly fine on other CMD windows, just not when CMD was opened as Admin

Edit Windows 10.

If rbtray.exe is run as administrator, it can send the windows of elevated processes to the tray.

It can be set automatically by right-clicking the exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program as an administrator.
