Improving usability

Hi!

First of all I, want to express my gratitude to you for creating this useful addon!

Nevertheless, the usability of this extension could be improved with the following steps, to match the default behavior of Firefox:

1. A normal left-click on a search engine should open the results in the active tab.
2. A left-click+strg should open the results in the background, as a separate tab.
3. A left-click+strg+shift should open the results in the background, while the menu with the search engines stays open, so that you can open several engines at once.
4. A left-click+shift opens the results in a new window, as it is now.
5. It would be more intuitive and faster to click on a folder to open it's contained engines, instead of clicking on "open all in tabs".
6. The above mentioned proposals for opening search engines should also be applied to folders.

Please let me know your opinion on this suggestions.

1 & 2 - If you tick the in built Firefox preference "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately", then the foreground/background tab loading of Context Search is reversed - so you essentially get what you're asking for. I could also add a preference to the Context Search extension directly if this isn't desirable.

3 - I like that idea.

5 & 6 - I don't have any folder functionality in this Firefox extension. Are you maybe using someone else's variant?

1 & 2: Adding a preference in the Context Search extension itself seems more reasonable to me.

3: Cool!

5 & 6: This addon¹ allows to organize search engines with folders. When a folder with search engines is expanded, then you'll see at the end of the list "open all in tabs". I use folders for mainly looking up a word in several dictionaries.

Would be nice to see this suggestions implemented!

I also thank you for allowing us to get away from a little of the weird stuff FF now seems to come up with these days. I particularly appreciate that you did not break Tabmix plus. Tabmix plus does allow for changes to shortcut keys which might be helpful for sojusnik.

This is what I would want:

left click> show search results in the already opened tab middle click> open search results in a new tab in the background

I can't get this to work, need help. Can I set something in about:config?
