Missing mtoc or mtoc.NEW
I keep getting this error when trying to compile kexts through hackintool on Catalina 10.15.6.
I installed mtoc via brew, and rebooted to be sure... but the message still arises. Xcode is installed... perhaps I need to install another component/plugin/module?
Has anyone been able to stop this message from appearing? I too installed mtoc with brew but the message still comes up.
haven't found a fix in all my searching and testing. but i found that if i pretend it never comes up, the build folder still contains working kexts :-P

seems to fix the mtoc issue, thanks.
but might I suggest having a message appear in the compile output immediately after pressing the compile button that says "compile selected: begin" or something to alert the user that the program is actually doing something? and maybe "compile selected: end" once it's complete.
I clicked the 'compile selected' button and nothing happens for like 30 seconds. Just as i was about to force close the app it started outputting text.
Would be nice if the user was notified that the button was pressed and the command was executed.
issue still present. updated to latest 3.9.1 on macOS Big Sur 11.6.7
what is it that i'm doing wrong and how do I fix this? i'm not sure what the error means so I don't know if it's compiling kexts incorrectly or will lead to boot issues.
is there any info you need to diagnose?
i played around with brew and reinstalled mtoc and updated everything and then i had the same error but with 'nasm' as the offending item.
i just deleted brew and reinstalled everything and the error seems to have vanished for the time being.
hopefully it is fixed.

It keeps coming up.
Homebrew tells me to install and symlink 'nasm', so I do that, and then Hackintool shows a nasm missing error the same as the mtoc one posted above.
i've also removed and reinstalled nasm according to homebrew instructions, and doctor does not show any nasm errors at all...
now Homebrew is telling me the following:
Warning: Some installed formulae are deprecated or disabled. You should find replacements for the following formulae: mtoc
when i choose to proceed to build the kexts despite the pop-ups in hackintool, it says build succeeded and if i copy the output text to a text editor and search for FAILED i do not get any results, but i'm still left wondering why my other computer that i run pretty much the same applications on and have the same brew install setup on does not produce this error and what it means for the kexts generated or something else in the sytem.
where is nasm or mtoc supposed to be installed, and if mtoc is to be deprecated, what will happen when with compiling kexts when it no longer function as intended?
