Trainer mode Master does not engage

I am trying to use the Trainer mode with the new firmware but I cannot make it work. When you setup Student on one radio it displays the S icon but on the Master radio it does not display the T icon and does not give control to the student radio.

Is this a bug?

I am using SWA switch and the proper trainer cable.
