Image Details page: retain Browse search params for prev/next navigation

Open StephenChan opened this issue 3 years ago • 0 comments

When you reach an Image Details page from the Browse Images page, any search params used in Browse should carry over and be used in subsequent previous image / next image navigation.

This has been requested at least once on the Google Group, and sometimes I've gotten a vibe from user questions that this was something they expected to happen.

Details:

  • If there is a subsequent navigation from Image Details to Annotation Tool, continue to carry the params over.
  • If there is a subsequent image details edit, image annotation area edit, point regeneration, etc. then ideally we would still keep the search params when returning to Image Details. However, I'm not sure if this would drastically increase the work involved in this issue.
  • Have an easy-to-find button on the Image Details page which lets you clear any active search params. This is a convenience so that people don't have to be savvy enough to clear the params manually in the URL bar, and also a reminder to people that it's keeping the search params in the first place, unlike what CoralNet has done in the past ~10 years.
  • Best to complete issue #437 first.
