Database Issues
I know this is old code, but I just tried to install it on my web server. Already made sure the DB was empty, but getting a "MySQL error, please make sure the DB is empty before trying again" error. Is there a way to force DB overwrite?

I'm embarrassed to say this, but that error might be a bold faced lie... Looking at the place where it is displayed I'm basically saying, unless you got success, or authentication failure, tell the user the db should be empty. So there could be any other number of issues that are actually causing it, but depending on your PHP error level you might get more info looking at the actual server response eg in the requests tab of Chrome developer tools.
That being said, this is overripe for a rewrite and I've been itching for weekend project ideas. If you can't figure this out in the next few weeks I will have a much better version of this. I'll update the issue with that when it's ready.
I tried the chrome developer tools and also looked at my server logs for any indication of what is happening. I am getting the same error. What else could I do to troubleshoot?
It'd be nice if you refactored your code some weekend soon 😎 Nudgemail is shutting down 😐 And maybe this app will be the final straw to launch me into the self-hosting universe.
