[BUG] Can't manually add games, or import/export DLLs while running as admin
In the latest version released, when running as administrator it is not possible to add games. and when the program is run without admin privileges, it is not possible to rewrite the dll in the game folder
Same~ish here. If I run it as admin I get this (attached pic). If I don't run it as admin it crashes to desktop.
Specs: Edition Windows 11 Home Version 23H2 Installed on 10/24/2022 OS build 22631.4751 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1055.0
when running as administrator it is not possible to add games
As dumb as this sounds, bugs outside of DLSS Swappers control means that brining up a file/folder browser dialog in an app running as admin will crash. There is workarounds, but ideally there should be no reason to run the application with admin permissions.
when the program is run without admin privileges, it is not possible to rewrite the dll in the game folder
Can you let me know what game folder it is trying to write to?
Thanks for that info @haroldnixon. I'll try install the same OS/feature set in a virtual machine and see if it does the same thing.
I'm trying to reinstall on local disk c
I use the same OS as the friend above
Leaving note here for the stuff I have to do to fix this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/uwp/api/windows.storage.pickers.filesavepicker?view=winrt-22621#in-a-desktop-app-that-requires-elevation
Hi, mentioned in other bug, @beeradmoore asked UAC settings. Here we go:
Thats odd @DrewCZ , are you able to not run DLSS Swapper the app as admin?
my issue was because total commander runs under elevated permissions. that's it. mentioned level works well when started under explorer.exe
tested and add game works well! thank you for your help!
