Doesn't work on MC movie event gathering server specifically the mines, outer walls, and the wilderness servers

Open Potato-Man5 opened this issue 8 months ago • 14 comments

Describe the bug Trying to download the worlds for the mines, outer walls and wilderness parts of the MC movie event gathering but it disconnects the moment I try to join the server.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Enter the server address specifically the Outer Walls server or Wilderness server or Mines server which can be accessed through the map in the hotbar upon joining the lobby server. It will reconnect you to another server.
  2. Try to join the server after pressing start on the download world in the gui.
  3. It doesnt let you connect

Expected behavior I have downloaded the world on the lobby server which is called Midport Village but when trying to do the same with the other 3 servers it wont let me join.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows
  • Version 1.45.0-6
  • Minecraft Version 1.21.70

I'm manually connecting to the IP given when it says "Connecting to:" but it just disconnects me and doesn't load the map.

that's expected, gatherings do a request to get the server address before joining, that address is only valid for your account for around a minute. you can't just save an IP and join it again

so how do I do it then? I'm so confused lol

Yeah, I assumed they did something like that. What would be a way to manually connect to the other gathering sub-servers?

no, you have the be authorized to join it by calling the API and the API only lets you join the lobby server

You said before "are you manually joining into a mines instance?"? Did you not mean via an IP Address or did I misunderstand.

moyaimoment avatar Mar 28 '25 12:03 moyaimoment

I meant trying to join a mines instance by using the IP, which doesn't work since you aren't allowed to join it anymore

How did you do so if it's not allowed to be joined?

Using the IP provided by bedrocktool when it attempts to join one of the other instances works fine for me, I guess I went fast enough. Other than that, it seems that packcache is causing the issue of not being able to connect to the other servers like the mines. I get the error "dial minecraft 192.168.1.3:55491->40.71.206.213:30093: handle *packet.ResourcePacksInfo: opening cached Resourcepack: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (delete packcache as a fix)". It happens every time, even if I delete the packcache.
