Register on PyPI under `plum`?
I'm curious why this isn't registered on PyPI under plum? The project name appears to be untaken.
Also, congratulations on the beartype move!
Whoa. Since plum actually still is free, it makes absolutely no sense to not use that name. I guess I just assumed that plum would have been taken. Thank you for raising this, @patrick-kidger! I will look into it.
And thank you!! It’s very exciting. :)
I +1 patrick.
If you want to do this smoothly, you should release one last version of plum-dispatch that says "please install plum because we renamed" and then you release plum on pipit without the warning.
Thanks, @PhilipVinc, I will follow that procedure. :)
I attempted to claim the name plum on PyPI, but I'm getting an authentication error. Even though plum isn't registered on PyPI, it is registered on the test repository: https://test.pypi.org/project/plum/. By uploading to plum on the test repository, it might be that the authors are also assigned the name plum on the main index. This might be the reason why I didn't go for plum originally...
I sent a mail to @muhrin with you in cc, let's see if he answers and agrees to the name transfer. (Martin, I just realised that you have a GitHub account as well, so if you read us here feel free to answer us here as well).
