Budgets don't show in Fava

Open LiberaVeritas opened this issue 1 month ago • 2 comments

I have budgets set up in beancount like the following

2025-01-01 custom "budget" Expenses:Supplies "yearly" xxx CAD

However, these amounts don't show up at all in Fava. In the web ui editor, the budget lines are highlighted in orange.

Is it because a year has not yet passed? I've tried changing it to "monthly" and "daily" but it also didn't show.

On the latest release they do show up on e.g. https://fava.pythonanywhere.com/example-with-budgets/account/Expenses:Food/?r=changes. Can you describe more concretely where they are missing and/or provide a small example file to reproduce this with?

I was expecting to see it in Income Statements according to the docs, but I guess it only shows up when a specific account is selected?

But besides that, what I was hoping for was to see my account balances alongside their total budget amounts. Is there a way to select custom directives like budgets in BQL?
