Codekit stops compiling, starts refreshing

Open yratof opened this issue 11 years ago • 4 comments

When i've been using Codekit for a while, it randomly stops working how it should.

What happens is when I save a file, it no longer compiles, it just refreshes the project.

Which I can't stop it from doing. The only way it seems to work again is to restart the computer, which i presume cuts ties to the server that codekit is watching.

Using Coda 2.5, Codekit 2.1.8 (18027), Accessing files from another mac (OSX 10.9.5) that is on & still working fine

This sounds like the OS is getting confused about what type of file-events are happening.

Unmounting and remounting the remote Mac's drive should fix the problem.

Same here. It seems Coda (2.5) and Codekit don't play quite nicely together. I'm not exactly sure why this is happening but I can imagine it's Coda's "Use Publishing" feature, that was rewritten in 2.5. Probably they use the same way to detect file changes in a folder. Unmounting and remounting fixes the problem, but unfortunately only for some time.
