Can someone with permissions please re-activate issue #1330 *and mark it fresh*... it seems a shame to bury all that work when the only thing blocking publication of the helm...

Raised #1915 which augments this effort by allowing the repository to be used directly via the [helm-git](https://github.com/aslafy-z/helm-git) plugin.

@goldpandas Just FYI, [helmfile](https://helmfile.readthedocs.io/en/latest/#helmfile-kustomize) supports deploying kustomizations and will work with Argo. I haven't tried this yet but probably will do so.

@github-vincent-miszczak any chance you could rebase this please? @bjoernhaeuser / @TomasMocek once rebased, any chance of a review and merge please?
