Maintenance status
The last time this repository received any kind of attention was almost 3 years ago.
As this crate has 22 Million (!) downloads, this should really be maintained by someone.
If the original maintainer still exists, please respond to this. Otherwise we should release a notice about this crate being unmaintained.
I am willed to take over this crate as a maintainer, if @bcmyers is willed to do that.
Either way, according to https://github.com/rustsec/advisory-db/blob/main/HOWTO_UNMAINTAINED.md, I've tried to make contact with the author of this crate so it will count as unmaintained in 270 days (April 24, 2026). A security advisory about the maintenance status of this crate can then be created in https://github.com/rustsec/advisory-db.
@bcmyers Please contact me. It would be much easier for the community if the existing crate could be taken over by a new maintainer rather than having to create a new crate and flagging the old one as unmaintained.
