Is this crate still maintained?

It looks like there has been no activity over the past couple of years and there are pending PRs to fix deprecated functions and to update some outstanding dependencies.

If this crate is unmaintained then it would be nice to have a notice posted including some possible good alternative crates to use

I did not maintain it for a very long time. Apologies. But I just did a bunch of maintenance work and published a new version on crates.io (0.4.2)
