Unicode characters not showing in MacOS Terminal

Open juanra opened this issue 2 years ago • 11 comments

Hi guys,

I have tried to display the ctop status icons but have not been successful.

Some details:

  • My locale is en_US.UTF-8 and it is configured as-is in the mac terminal.
  • I'm using Nerdfonts. I don't know if it could have something to do with it.

Same issue here. Everything worked fine for me on 0.7.6 (build 8f0c9f5 go1.16.5) but broke in 0.7.7 (build 11a1cb1 go1.18).

I can run 0.7.6 exe and it works fine so I don't think anything on my system broke this.

Experiencing same issue here on Mac OS Monterey 12.5.1 with ctop 0.7.7.

ctop 0.7.6 works without issues

It seems there are plans to move away from icons in favor of text: https://github.com/bcicen/ctop/issues/309

Im having the same issue on an M1. Seems to work fine if I build and run it locally. Will debug and see if I can find anything

If I check out the following branch here where it looks like build 0.7.7 was done from I can replicate. Seems okay on master. Will investigate further

Same thing also on Ubuntu. Works fine with 0.7.6.

It's happening to me also.

  • Ubuntu Server, connected via SSH (BitVise xterm)
  • NerdFonts (I've tried with different NF and same result)
  • UTF-8
