1.3.2 Submit Button- Student- Accessibility Fixes - Level A - Meaningful Sequence
User Story As a student, I need the submit button to be available at the end of the form flow so I can tab and submit.
Acceptance Criteria
- [ ] In Student application, add additional "Submit Application" button on "Confirm Submission" tab, at bottom right. This will result in two "Submit Application" buttons when user in "Confirm Submission" tab.
Context:
- These issues were uncovered through accessibility audit via CITZ.
- Detailed Spreadsheet for Student s inserted inline and also attached here: 2024_Student Application_Audit.xlsx
- When the sequence in which content is presented affects its meaning, a correct reading sequence can be programmatically determined.
The Problem
- Submit application button should be next to "Previous section" button, or otherwise at the end of the form's flow. Currently, the submit button is read at the top before any meaningful content, and focus does not return to it once form is complete.
GDX Discovery Feedback
- Navigation: Once the student has completed the form and consented its difficult to find the submit button. The person has to scroll all the way up to find it. This can be confusing and not a good experience.
- This submit button before the submission step is confusing. Does it bring you to the last step and duplicate the navigation bar. Confirm submission is the Submit Application step, the confirmation is part of it.
- These "Save draft" and "Submit application' buttons should be on the bottom left. Consistency in forms is key in learnability.
