Play not working after killing the notification

Reproduction steps:

Use Android 14 or later (probably limited to 14+ and not before)
(I successfully reproduced it on a Samsung phone. Not sure if it happens with other manufacturers as well)
Play some VOD video
go to homescreen
swipe out the notification (to stop the playback service)
go back to the app
hit play in the video you just played
-> video is not starting
