IMO your site should be opt-in. You might want to consult their terms of use particularly "You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service without the express written permission by GitHub."

I don't mind Google indexing my GitHub repos, that's great. However, I'm not interested in websites pro-actively creating profiles on my behalf for content I host elsewhere.
