How to add reference in drposter

I use [@bbucior _2016] for in-text citation, like in other rmarkdown, but i cannot give reference successfully Why does it happen

It's hard to know exactly without a little bit more info. It's been a while since I've used the template, but I see in the example (and some of the posters I've presented in the past) there's an HTML div tag that tells pandoc where to render the references. Did you include that? If so, could you share a minimum viable example so I could debug?
