The problem is that there are already symbols with such names and we're not handling them properly now (even in the standard library). If this was only a theoretical possibility...

What you propose is doable, but it will add a lot of complexity for a modest gain. I'll think about potential ways to improve this.

paredit's config should have no effect if paredit is disabled.
I seems to me that all those errors come from `clojure-mode`, not CIDER itself.
Probably the regexp for font-locking keywords needs to be tweaked.
