I haven't observed this issue, but if you find a solution do let me know. Likely it's an issue with `which-key`, that's unrelated to Prelude.

That's on me - I never cared much about those warnings, so I didn't add the necessary code to suppress them. They are harmless, though.

Accounting for every possible shell type will complicate a lot the jack-in code, that's why I'm not eager to go in this direction. I'd be happy to accept small changes...

What's the error message that you get from the subprocess itself?
