Description of the problem

I installed driver along with tutorial. It seems to work (router recognises it as 2.5Gbps), but now Network Interface in DSM settings is blank. I don't see any interfaces there, all buttons are disabled.

Reinstalling and restarting didn't help.

@lukszar sorry this might not help you at all but I just wanted to let you know that I installed the driver for the same UGREEN dongle yesterday on my DS218+ and it worked. My DSM version is different tho: DSM 7.3-81180.

I upgraded to DSM 7.3 today and the usb network adapter stopped working on my DS224+. I completed the following and it's working again:

  1. Disconnected the USB adapter and connected a network cable into the normal LAN 1 port
  2. From Package area - uninstalled the r8152 package
  3. Restarted NAS
  4. Followed the install instructions on this site
  5. After restarting and manually starting the r8152 package I plugged in the adapter and separate network cable.
  6. I could see the adapter using CLI "lsusb", but nothing happened in the NAS Network Interface screen. No LAN 3 appeared.
  7. Thanks to my AI friend, we discovered eth2 was down.
  8. Via ssh into the NAS I ran "sudo ip link set eth2 up" and LAN 3 indicated connected on the Network Interface screen but no IP address becuase I had it setup manually before.
  9. I entered the IP, subnet, gateway info and it started working.
  10. I removed the temporary cable from the usb adapter, disconnected the LAN port cable and connected it to the usb adapter.

All's good now as of writing this.
