Spent about 3 days. Don’t know why it is happening. The instructions are so simple.

having the same problem on DS218+. /var/packages/r8152/var/log says:

I will just install the driver for ds218+. DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 8 Everything worked from scratch, there were no errors during installation. USB 2.5Gbit adapter https://aliexpress.com/item/1005007812625631.html

But this model does not have a link aggregation.

@angipp01 Could you attach start-stop-status.log and synopkg.log? https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152/wiki/Troubleshooting#how-to-investigate-if-the-driver-does-not-work-properly

The driver does not seem to be loaded at all. The command you executed during installation may have failed.

sudo install -m 4755 -o root -D /var/packages/r8152/target/r8152/spk_su /opt/sbin/spk_su
sudo chmod a+rx /opt /opt/sbin

I have the same problem but it is working when installing the driver through ssh : (it is on 3622xs+)

sudo wget https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152/releases/download/2.19.2-2/r8152-broadwellnk-2.19.2-2_7.2.spk sudo synopkg install r8152-broadwellnk-2.19.2-2_7.2.spk sudo synopkg start r8152

but it crash again after reboot

It's working now after adding the privilege to repair to the driver :

sudo sed -i 's/package/root/g' /var/packages/r8152/conf/privilege
