Closure worker is leaking open files on darwin?

Hello,

We see failures on the ci.bazel.io (or here or here) where rules_closure fail with too many open files. We think it's the closure worker. Anything comes to mind? How can I help debugging this further?

Definitely seeing this as well on Sierra (10.12.6). sudo sysctl -w kern.maxfiles=16384 helped a bit, but I still see failures that cause the workers to restart (and build times increase).
