discrepancy between file upload methods and group formation

when i upload files directly from qctools, they arrive group-less. when i upload from the "file upload" page, I'm prompted to assign a group or to create a new group.

I'm not sure what the best resolution is, but I think there should be some consistency between the two methods. Maybe we could add "none" to the file upload drop-down menu?

actually API to create group and add a file to group is already there. (It is in readme).

Or if you tested this in your capacity as manager at BAVC, maybe @iamdamosuzuki can take ownership over this issue and test/resolve.
