Support of BT.2020 10-bit
For the moment only BT.601 and BT.709 are supported, adding BT.2020 (at least 10-bit version) would be great.
This involves many pieces and perhaps I'm missing a few.
- update vectorscope in ffmpeg
- adjust the levels used in the saturation graphs
- ensure proper color reporting in the table
BT.2020 supports various nits values so for which nit value is 100% red and for which is 75% red?
Actually that is relevant only for HDR. You only need SDR variant?
The exact need may have to be clarified, definitely. What is the complexity of having both SDR and HDR (if there are differences in the implementation, with PQ10 / HLG10 / HDR10) variants?
HDR with non-constant lighting requires parsing metadata to get right positions for graticule.
Starting with constant lighting would be great, then we see.
That’s the reason why so much nice HDR content looks that bad when scaled down to SDR.
Are there any test pattern in bt.2020 ?
I'll check if and where free ones are available, as soon as I‘m back home.
@richardpl Does this answer your question? https://www.burosch.de/tv-bildeinstellungen/testbilder.html
I need something with 75% and 100% color bars.
@richardpl I’ll check.
