Option for turning off frame thumbnail preview

Dropping in multiple files can often slow down the program significantly. Is this because it's generating the thumbnail previews for each frame? Would an option for toggling the frame previews on/off help mitigate slowdowns and crashing?

IIRC @ElderOrb adjusted the thumbnail handling so that the thumbnails as generated as needed and the entirety of them are not stored in memory, but can't remember exactly how that resolved.
