Wishlist: B-frame dependency graph
Okay, now I'm going crazy, but one can dream...
Here's my idea: Add a graph with a different color for each frame, depending on its frame-type (I,P,B).
Actually, it's not fully my idea, but based on the awesome feature in GSpot, that shows the frame-dependency (coded- / presentation-order)
Okay, now I'm going crazy, but one can dream...
Not so much a crazy idea, this is a feature in the ToDo-list of MediaInfo for several years (no time for implementing it, unfortunately).
I am not sure this feature has its place in QCTools: QCTools is more focused on the decoded frame analysis, and this feature may have more its place in a tool like MediaConch or MediaInfo focused on the encoded bitstream analysis.
MediaConch/MediaInfo rather than QCTools: True indeed. Yet, I still found it useful in the past to have the frame-type information in relation to the displayed image.
So for QCTools, I think it'd be perfectly sufficient of only having a way to see the frame-type somehow. Like suggested in #94. Thought it might be nice to have it as a graph, to get a structural overview of the frame-types as well.
