opening a window sometimes makes it impossible to switch workspaces

When opening a new window, I sometimes get the problem of the window being "sticky" (not like "sticky" in the node flags, this is not set by default), meaning selecting a different workspace through polybar will switch the workspace and shortly show the windows present there, but will then revert back to showing the "sticky" application. When this happens, sxhkd refuses to switch workspaces at all. The only fix is restarting the application until this doesn't happen anymore, and this happens quite often. After restarting, nothing is "focused" so sxhkd still refuses to work until I click on a window (hover to focus does not work). Applications I noticed doing this: Firefox, Discord, Spotify
