PC Showing Offline in WOL

Open xlevix10 opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

We have WOL setup on 8 PCs and 7 of them are working fine, but 1 PC constantly shows offline in the console, even though it's online. The firewall is disabled and WOL is enabled in the BIOS. Any ideas as to why just this one PC will not show online?

I am able to ping the machine with the pinger. I've removed and re-added the machine and the WOL console finds the machine by the IP each time, but it will continue to show offline.

Please explain in more detail, the pinger? WOL pinger? Maybe the host has multiple network interfaces?

Some trouble...

WOL in BIOS enabled, all features enabled... Host is offline. Host not responding.

Even though you enabled it in the bios, it may be that your NIC is not armed for wake up. First, when that computer is turned off, is the nic light blinking? If it is listening for WOL packets, it will be occasionally blinking.

You may need to update your NIC drivers. Is the NIC configured for Wake on Magic Packet in Network Settings? Is the machine on the same network?
