Error installing/Trigger Setup Win2008 R2 Server

Open pjamies opened this issue 7 years ago • 3 comments

Hello,

I am attempting to move my setup from my Win7 PC to a Win2008 R2 server. The export of settings (PC, etc) went well, but I cannot re-create any of the tasks. I get the following errors ..

(Sorry, pics do not seem to be able to attach .. just get errors..)

WOL Error getting: Register Task Definition (43,4): LogonType:

Also at the bottom of the screen/window: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trusted relationship for the ssl/tls secure channel

Any help would be great ..

Sincerely,

Paul Jamieson

Unfortunately Microsoft will not explain what those API errors mean, but I can tell you that it is an error with your credentials used to schedule tasks. If you are moving to a new host you will have to reenter your userid and password in the scheduled tasks window.

Hello,

Sorry, I am not sure what you mean by 'you will have to reenter your userid and password in the scheduled tasks window' ? Yes, I have moved the app to a new server (and exported\imported) all of the PCs. Should I start from scratch again or is there something else I need to do? to get this to work?

Install the app as Administrator? I'm sure there must be others that have this running on an MS Win2008 R2 server .. ?

What I mean is this: for security, WOL creates a unique key on the computer it is installed on. This key is used to encrypt your passwords, for security. If you move the database to another computer, the key will be wrong. So, just type in the passwords again and click OK. That will re-write them with the new key in the task scheduler.
