Export Schedule?

Open LarryCG opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

I am migrating from one machine to another. I can export settings of WakeOnLAN, but those schedule job were not export as well. Is that a way to export and import the scheduled tasks?

The Export function does not export the scheduled tasks. Only the WOL data. But this is a great idea and I will try and add this in future.

Yes, I'd like this as well as my admin machine often changes.

There is a funny thing one needs to be aware of though in networked environments and using the currently implemented schedule.

I use the -P option a lot in order to allow me to access WOL from any of my admin machines. Its a tremendous addition. However, often times I'll forget which machine is running the scheduled tasks, or I'll try and create a new scheduled task on a given admin machine only to realise "oh, no schedules on this machine" as there are no other tasks in the schedule.

There may not be any easy way to navigate through this. Can the scheduling machine be identified in some way? Is the remote creation and deletion of tasks a feasible thing?

I've just had my admin user profile get corrupted on the machine I use to manage WOL - this means I've lost the link to all my scheduled tasks from inside WOL itself.

The tasks still exist in the task scheduler - but they can't be seen from inside WOL.

There must be something which is filtering the tasks from the task scheduler under the folder Aquila Technology -> Wake On LAN

I've had a rummage in the registry and nothing obvious is popping up.

From the WOL side, what is stopping the WOL client from showing any and all tasks present in: Aquila Technology -> Wake On LAN

??
