Project maintenance status after v2.2.2 release
Hello,
First, thank you for creating and maintaining WinDivert.
I noticed that the latest official release is v2.2.2 from September 2022, and since then there haven’t been any new releases. Could you clarify the current maintenance status of the project?
Is WinDivert still actively maintained, or is it considered feature-complete/stable? Should users expect further releases, or is v2.2.2 the long-term supported version? Are there any known issues with newer versions of Windows that might require future updates?
Thanks again for your work!

Yes, WinDivert is still officially active, and it is also considered feature-complete and stable.
There were plans to add the following, but never got off the ground:
- Support for the Ethernet layer. This work was mostly completed, but there were some subtle behavioral changes that meant it was not ready for mainstream use. It can be freely downloaded a compiled (although you need to DIY driver signing), but I would not consider it 100% well-tested or ready for production.
- Support for ARM. This is a frequently requested feature and apparently the stable release compiles and runs just fine. However, I am yet to find anyone willing to sign the driver.
These days I am not very active on the project. But I do consider the current version achieves most of what it was intended to do.
Should users expect further releases, or is v2.2.2 the long-term supported version?
The current version is the long-term supported version.
I will probably be reluctant to make changes unless for security issues. However, even then it would be difficult, due to the driver signing process (I would need to track down someone willing to do so).
Are there any known issues with newer versions of Windows that might require future updates?
I do not think there is anything major. Although, feel free to point things out.
@basil00 A very detailed response much appreciated. Solved my current queries. Thank you.

Hi, we are willing to sign the driver using our EV digital signature. Contact me: [email protected]
Thank you @trudyhood. Would you be able to sign an ARM version of WinDivert?
@trudyhood , I need a signed ARM version. Would be happy to throw $200 USD at whoever does it.

Where can I find the binary?
