Seeking stack for DOC/DOCX support & scaling in Trix

I'm working on a pet project for template-driven contract editing. I'm interested in using Trix as the WYSIWYG component, but need reliable .doc/.docx import and accurate editing capabilities.

Requirements:

• Import and render .doc/.docx with correct formatting.
• Edit, track changes, and export back to Word formats.
• Scale to approximately 1,000–2,000 concurrent connections.

Could you advise on any community plugins, recommended server-side conversion tools, or an overall stack setup that integrates well with Trix and supports the above scaling?

Looks like the Basecamp folks working on the editor are now focused on a new ActionText implementation — according to this post. So Trix will probably be going into maintenance mode soon 🤷‍♂️ You might want to look into other options.
