Very slow Omarchy with weird errors

What's wrong?

I installed 3.0.2 and did the updates. Rebooted. But the migration didn't go well. The app menu couldn't find elephant etc. But the most weird thing was the slowness. Very slow to do anything other than opening a terminal. For example, kdenlive and chromium were taking ages to load (the system was asking me to terminate or wait), and when loading they would be very slow to open a menu or a website. My network was fine, but somehow the system was very slow. Google said that my browser was suspicious!! CPU and mem were fine too, I don't know about i/o though.

Please note that omarchy was installed on a rather slow medium, but that shouldn't be a problem. Other distros I've installed there in the past were fine. I used that installation on two different laptops (it's external storage), and the problems remained. I'd be quick to blame btrfs, but I don't know.

The system is very slow overall, I'll follow this.

I've updated to the latest of everything, the slowness remains. Slow to get to the deskop, super slow to load chromium or kdenlive. Everything just crawls. Memory and cpu are not maxed out btw, not by a long shot. No swap is used. Elephant-files is disabled to make the system speedier. Something else is the culprit.

Experiencing the same issues, hope someone can resolve this

I'm having the same issues. It's unbearable. It even happened while writing this comment. These are my specifications. Stuff like this never happened on Arch before. I've used Ubuntu, Mint, and also, never happened. Chromium, terminal, it's all lagging.

Can you run btop? Be useful to see what processes are using the most resources to narrow down what the cause might be

I did a lot of stuff, I can't pinpoint why it has stopped, but it has stopped. @Jamesking56 thanks for asking, but for now it's okay.
