Network fails on several occasions

Open fisika1729 opened this issue 3 months ago • 2 comments

when connected to a wifi, eventhough the network is still connected, the ping fails, when checking the speed it shows 0 bytes, restarting the iwd service fixes this for time being but not completely, also seems networkd.service had nothing to do with it, this happens not only with particular network but all network. This happens as well logging in after idle lock.

Earlier the with iwd.conf still around it was much worse, kept disconnecting like every five seconds, removing it made it a little better, the network stays up until the idle lock or dhcp lease expire.

Try updating to the latest kernel (v6.16.5), there have been lots of reports about network stability issues in previous v6.16.x kernel versions.

For me i thought it got resolved just to realise, the issue still persists with network manager as well, tried modifying resolved.conf and all. Still no clue.

I started to use NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant, it got better but I am still getting random disconnects. I have to manually reconnect using the NetworkManager tray icon or restart the service.

after recent updates, the network issue appears to be gone, so i'm closing this issue, with this comment, my current config is iwd+nm, if either of them is disabled, it causes some trouble with network, hope this help for others faced same issue and expecting a fix.
