Configurable update frequency?

How would you feel about the update frequency being configurable instead of a constant...?

That's not a bad idea, but would need some refactoring of the code to be done cleanly, but backwards compatability should be maintained in since I have no idea how many people are using this little library by now.

One of the reasons I haven't implemented this (yet) is because I'm considering a v2 rewrite in order to address some other usability issues, but which would break backwards compatability. Pull requests are welcome though.

@bartmeuris sounds good. If I get the itch to have it as a feature I'll look at PRing something :)
