I suspect you're using NVM as is hinted in the message. If that's the case, then I recommend you try upgrading that somehow or changing the environment variable it exports from NVM_NODEJS_ORG_MIRROR to NODEJS_ORG_MIRROR. This package already adds NAN via a reasonably unrestrictive semantic version so there isn't anything @barrysteyn can change to help.
