I think this is an issue introduced into the Google Maps API, via a update to firefox. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1180744 Not really sure whos job it is to fix :)

Fixed for Chrome (and other webkit based browsers) - as there is a nice easy option to enable it. Doesnt work in all browsers, and its not a simple metter...
