Multiple destinations, route numbers in bicycling mode?
The only things I don't see are: The ability to use multiple destinations Visibility of state and local route numbers when in bicycling mode. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?
Otherwise, it is FANTASIC! The ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS! I am NOT exaggerating. Let me explain: I often use GoogleMaps to create paper maps for extended bicycle rides. (Cell phone reception is often spotty.) I do this by pasting screen shots into PowerPoint. The problem I had with classic GoogleMaps, which is even worse in the new version (which does get the route numbers, I'll give it that), was and is that when printing I could barely (Classic) or not at all (New) read the names of the roads, and I had to crap around to get something usable, often penciling stuff in. Your "High Contrast Road" option makes this unnecessary even when printing in black and white! Plus it makes the names of the intersecting roads clear. I can't tell you what a godsend that is. Keep it up! You are doing The Lord's work for sure. -Paul (A-Robustus)
The ability to use multiple destinations
There is an option for one intermediate point. Or can just drag the route, to go via your intermediate locations. But it is an feature request #67 for it to be improved.
Visibility of state and local route numbers when in bicycling mode.
Hmm, that is odd. Think its a bug with the Bicycle layer. Doesn't seem to happen in the UK, all roads numbers seem to be shown. But yes in the US the road shields do seem to disappear.
Suggest its a bug, because it doesnt happen everywhere, and not sure the point. If it was hiding shields for roads you can't use, why wouldnt it hide freeway. And if that was the intention surely the road itself would get dehighlighted.
Anyway, I will see if can 'repair' it via the styled maps feature. But not sure.
... yes the "High Contrast Road" option, found very useful for printing. Dont really understands Google's quest to give the maps such low natural contrast. It doesn't seem to serve any purpose.
