Custom keymap not working

I'm trying to make a custom keymap and there's no errors in the code that I can find, its in the correct folder, and I'm able to connect my device and apply the script successfully. my running theory is that its not working because I cant interact with my screen through QTscrcpy normally, is there some way to enable control that I'm missing?

edit: I should add that I'm using a Samsung phone (Samsung s29 if I'm not mistaken), and a laptop running windows 10
