Enhancement request: Progress by tasks

Hello dev of GanttProject,

Recently I tried this programme to organise my educational life better. I’ve set up my study traject as a project, each course as a task, and each class moment as a subtask. I would like to use the progress/completion function to track what I have to read and/or do.

Thus I would suggest to add a checklist to each sub-task, and to follow the progress by this checklist that I can tick off, by the things that I’ve read and/or do so far. It would be even for a Calendar interaction with CalDAV.

What's the difference between the checklist and a third level of subtasks under "class moment" tasks (if I understand the problem right)? If you mark subtasks 100% complete, their parent task ("class moment") will also be completed.

A checklist and a task are in a way similar to a groceries list and planning to do groceries. A set of check/groceries items are a list of to small items to put into separate tasks, while doing groceries is the task.

Once you have read an article/have bread in your basket, you can tick it off, and the percentage of progress goes up with this formula [done tasks/all tasks]%.

The difference with what it is now, that you have to set the progress manually. While with this list feature, you only have to tick an item of the list, and the progress will be calculated on by the done percentages of all item of that list.
