Make image selection optional

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Image selection is a convenient feature, but the selected images are often not suitable for certain use cases (eg. highly regulated environments).

Describe the solution you'd like to see In these cases, requiring clients to provide images (thus disabling the automatic image selection) might be better.

Describe alternatives you've considered Instead of fully disabling image selection, specifying a set of custom images used for each node could be an alternative. See #3019

Additional context This could render the UI non-functional, unless an alternative image selection process is put in place.
