Use wifi-connect to setup wifi-repeater

Is there any tutorial or docs that explain how to use wifi-connect to setup wifi-repeater? https://www.balena.io/blog/turn-a-raspberry-pi-into-a-wi-fi-access-point-or-repeater/

I have a setup with two WiFi interfaces. One connects to the local router which is connected to the internet. The other one is an access points to talk to IoT devices. The connection should be bridged between the two. While the connection to the local router is not set up, one of the interfaces should serve as AP to set up the client connection (ssid and credentials of the local WiFi) from a smartphone.

I'd be happy about any suggestions!
