Not listing network SSIDs that contain special characters

Steps to reproduce

• Create a network SSID that contains a special character (I used 'Æ32' as SSID)
• Run wifi-connect and check the listed networks.
• All other available networks are listed but not the one with special characters. Verify from another source that the network is visible
• Change the SSID to '32' while keeping all the other parameters equal.
• Check wifi-connect dropdown menu and verify that the network '32' is now present.
