Etcher doesn't flash ISO and instead creates two empty partitions on a USB drive

  • Etcher version: 1.18.11 portable
  • Operating system and architecture: Windows 10 x64 version 22H2 (19045.3208)
  • Image flashed: ubuntu-22.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso
  • What do you think should have happened: the ISO should've been flashed into the USB
  • What happened: The flashing process finished, & the verification staged passed successfully, however, the USB drive got partitioned into 2 empty partitions & the USB drive got bricked. The ISO image didn't get written at all.
  • Do you see any meaningful error information in the DevTools? No
  • Notes: After this issue i used RUFUS and flashed the ubuntu ISO file on the USB drive, & it worked just fine, the USB drive didn't get bricked & got recognized & i was able to install ubuntu on a computer without issues.
