Add function for changing alpha

I copied this function from Luke's build of st.

It's useful as it allows changing of alpha on the go for better contrast.

@bakkeby should I update this PR? I think it's pretty handy to have the ability to change alpha when using transparency. Sometimes there's just not good enough contrast.
