Open izmeez opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

Description of the bug

With basis theme uploading a custom wide logo does not work fine. It assumes the logo will fit in the designated small square. It does not resize to the wider logo.

Steps To Reproduce

To reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'admin/config/system/site-information'
  2. Go down to Logo settings.
  3. Uncheck use logo supplied by active theme.
  4. Upload a logo that is wide and not square.
  5. Save configuration.
  6. Visit home page.

Actual behavior

The wide logo is displayed in a restricted space. Here is a square logo and a wide logo:

Expected behavior

Expected behaviour is for the wide logo to be larger and in the vertical middle of the space.

Additional information

It was suggested in https://github.com/backdrop/backdrop-issues/issues/3982#issuecomment-1907035795

(Your issue might be solved with adding img.header-logo { max-width: fit-content; } in CSS, but that's for discussion in a different issue.)

The Bootstrap theme handles this a bit better:

The Corporate KISS theme displays the logos in the vertical middle and significantly larger.
