Hello.
I would like to announce that I intend to port the Drupal 7 version of a Module that is currently being hosted at Drupal.org.
Its name is Last updated https://www.drupal.org/project/updated
Here's its description: The Last Updated module provides a checkbox on the node form that allows editors the choice to display an "Updated" date, distinct from the "Authored on" date
I have already informed the current Maintainers of my intentions, and offered to: (A) Leave the porting to them; (B) Collaborate with them to accomplish the port; or (C) Perform the port myself according to their wishes.
As for Maintaining the Backdrop version, I also have left it up to them as to whether they want to: (A) Be the Sole Maintainer; (B) Enlist my help as a Co-Maintainer; or (C) Leave me to be the Sole Maintainer.
The issue queue item that discusses these matters is at: https://www.drupal.org/project/updated/issues/3496510
I am now awaiting their response. I hope that they will be in touch soon, so the port can be completed as soon as possible.
Regards,
Graham Leach
In general, I wouldn't expect a response from a Drupal maintainer. In this case, she might respond, but usually they won't for months or even years. I'd avoid asking any questions that need a timely reply, and instead, state your intentions with an option for them to chime in (if they want to).
I'd recommend reading what others have done before: https://www.drupal.org/search/site/backdrop-port
But it looks like my co-maintainer has responded, so perhaps nolonger relevant for this issue! 🎉
Hello Everyone,
I have received positive confirmation from one of the maintainers that I am welcome to port the Last updated Drupal 7 module to Backdrop CMS, under the following conditions:
